Comcast Supports The Miracle Ride For Riley Kids

More than 25 Comcast employees, family members and friends from around Indiana and Michigan took a two-wheeled tour between Muncie and the greater Indianapolis area, soaking in some amazing sights and supporting a great cause. The sponsorship was provided by Comcast’s VetNet, an employee group for Veterans and Veteran Supporters that provides mentorship, peer-to-peer support and service opportunities for life and career growth. The money provided went directly to Riley Hospital for Children, a locally loved non-profit organization that helps children with medical care. This is Comcast’s third time as a Miracle Ride sponsor, and leading the pack was organizer and Tech Ops veteran Jim Foland, who is featured on Riley Hospital’s video

Foland says his wife, and numerous family members ranging from kids to grandkids, have received treatment from Riley Hospital for various ailments over the decades. “They don’t just treat the malady; they have an amazing system for helping the kids to grow and flourish by caring for their mental health, really treating the whole person during an incredibly challenging time.”

Foland is a U.S. Army Veteran, having been a helicopter mechanic, among other responsibilities when he served. “I’m so proud to work for a company like Comcast that supports a great cause that is near and dear to me.” Foland continued, “The fact that we have an employee resource group, a place where veterans can connect within the company, shows me that this company cares about the work I do, and my well-being.”

Bill Kingery, The Executive Director of the Miracle Ride Foundation, says Comcast has made a huge difference. “After the COVID lockdown, organizing a ride of this scale became a big challenge. These riders, some of whom came from out of state, have shown me how committed Comcast is to helping the Riley Hospital for Children, and it’s that kind of support we need in tough times.”

Riley Hospital for Children has received more than $7 million over the last 30 years directly related to the efforts of the Miracle Ride Foundation.
